Frequently Asked Questions
Stream Jr is a fine-grained, curated YouTube whitelist app that allows parents to approve videos and channels before kids watch.
How is Stream Jr different from YouTube Kids?
Stream Jr focuses on parent-approved access. Instead of relying only on broad age filters or algorithmic recommendations, parents can whitelist specific videos and channels for each child.
Does Stream Jr host or download YouTube videos?
No. YouTube content streams from YouTube. Stream Jr stores records such as video IDs, channel IDs, approval decisions, watch history, and settings needed to manage each child profile.
Can a child search YouTube directly?
Parents control search features for each child. Search can be disabled, filtered, limited to specific categories, or used only inside approved channels depending on the child settings.
Can parents approve entire channels?
Yes. If a channel is approved for a child, videos from that channel can be treated as approved for that child without requiring a separate request for every video.
What happens when a child requests access?
Adult users on the account receive a notification and can review the requested video or channel. Adults can allow or block the request, and the child app refreshes when the decision changes.
Does Stream Jr support time limits?
Yes. Parents can configure daily watch limits and instantly set a parent lock for each child profile.
Does Stream Jr work on web and mobile?
Stream Jr includes a web app and Android support. iOS support is planned.
How does Stream Jr work with Google Family Link and Google Workspace accounts?
A parent can invite a child using the Google account supervised through Family Link. The child signs in to Stream Jr with that account, while the parent continues to manage the child's Google and device settings in Family Link. Stream Jr adds its own video and channel approvals, time limits, and parent lock; it does not replace or bypass Family Link restrictions.
Google Workspace accounts can also be used when the organization's administrator permits Stream Jr's Google sign-in and YouTube access. School or work account policies may block third-party sign-in or YouTube, and Stream Jr cannot override those policies. If sign-in is blocked, contact the Workspace administrator or use an eligible personal Google account.
How do I upgrade, manage, or cancel my subscription?
To upgrade a Free account on the web, choose a paid plan on the Stream Jr homepage, sign in with the Adult Google account associated with your Stream Jr account if prompted, and complete checkout through Stripe. In a mobile app, follow the upgrade prompts to complete the purchase through the app store used by your device.
If you purchased on the web through Stripe, sign in as an Adult, open the profile menu, and select Manage next to your current plan. Stream Jr will securely open the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can update billing details, change available subscription options, or cancel.
If you purchased through the Stream Jr mobile app, manage or cancel the subscription from the subscriptions settings for the Google Play account or Apple Account used to make the purchase. Stripe cannot manage subscriptions purchased through Google Play or Apple. Your billing provider will show when any requested change takes effect before you confirm it.
How do I review, export, or delete a child's data, revoke consent, or delete my Account?
To remove one Kid profile, sign in as an Adult, open the profile menu, choose Manage Account, choose Manage Kids, and select Remove beside that Kid. Confirm the removal to delete the Kid profile and its directly associated history, decisions, settings, sessions, notification tokens, watch-time records, and parental-consent record from the live Stream Jr database.
To delete the entire family Account, open Manage Account, choose Delete Account, review the warning, type delete, and press Delete Account. Only the Account owner can complete this action. This deletes the Account, its Kid profiles and history, consent records, settings, invitations, sessions, push tokens, and the Adult memberships associated with that Account. If an Adult belongs to another Stream Jr Account, that separate membership is not deleted.
You can also use the authenticated Delete Account route. It takes you through the normal web app login and Account selection before opening the deletion controls.
Removing the affected Kid profile stops further collection and revokes the permission needed to operate that profile. To review or request an export before deleting, or to make a correction or revocation request that cannot be completed in the app, email info@processkonsult.com from an Adult email associated with the Account. Deleting Stream Jr data does not automatically cancel an external paid subscription, so cancel it through Stripe, Google Play, or Apple first.
