Stream Jr Quick Start

Create the family account, add a Kid profile, and choose whether they share a device or use their own.

Download the Stream Jr app for Adult and Kid(s)

Install Stream Jr on the Adult’s device and each Kid’s device from Google Play or the App Store.

Adult creates the family Stream Jr account

Open Stream Jr and choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple using the parent's account. Name the family account, create a 4-digit Adult PIN, and accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The PIN protects Adult Mode on devices shared with Kids.

Add the first Kid

Complete Parental Consent, then enter the Kid’s profile name. Choose whether the Kid can search and request content, or an Adult will find and allow content for them. Finally, choose how the Kid will access Stream Jr:

Kid will share this device with an Adult

No second device or Kid sign-in is needed.

Choose Create Profile to finish adding the Kid.
Switch to Kid Mode and select the Kid’s profile.
Use the Adult PIN to return to Adult Mode.

Kid will use their own device

The Kid does not need a Google or Apple account.

Choose Create QR Code to finish adding the Kid.
On the Kid’s device, open Stream Jr and scan the QR code, or enter the invite code under Join by Invite Code.
The device joins the Kid profile and opens in Kid Mode.

Find videos and channels

If Kid search is off, use Channel Search or Video Search in Adult Mode to find and allow content. If Kid search is on, the Kid can request content and an Adult can approve it in Decision History. Allowed channels and videos appear in the Kid’s library.

That’s it

Review search access, daily watch time, and notifications in Adult Mode whenever you need to adjust them.

Open Stream Jr

Remember: Stream Jr manages activity inside Stream Jr. Use your device’s parental controls when you also need to limit access to browsers, YouTube, Settings, or other apps.
